Car boot update from Jane

CAR BOOT SALE

This is one of our main club efforts to raise funds for the New Balustrade the club is engaging in building this Autumn.We would therefore appreciate help from all members however big or small in making this event as successful as last year.

Due to the development in the old parking area we have asked the Cricket Club to do a joint venture with us to enable us to have sufficient sales pitches. We sold 50 last year. and hopefully we can match this again.The arrangement is each club will share the proceeds from the pitch sales but will do their own events e.g. we are doing cold refreshments and they are doing the hot refreshments. Plus each of us will do our own stalls and car boots.

HOW CAN YOU HELP

For our own car boot we will need as much bric-a-brac as possible

Tombola prizes e.g. bottles dry goods, cans,other food packages ( these will be made into small hampers) unwanted gifts or any other good items

Plants for our plant stall (it would be appreciated if these could be marked with the species to assist the sales) many of us do not know one plant from another.

Small items for the children's lucky dip.

There will be boxes in the club house for you to put your items in.

For the refreshment tent we would appreciate our bakers providing cakes, sausage rolls and other small delicacies to sell with teas and coffees etc.if you can do this Sue and Dave Cosway (01626 685767) would like an idea of what you can bring.

FINALLY

but just as importantly helpers on the day (Sunday 16th August) we will start at 6.30 am. and hopefully finish by 12.30 pm.. There is a list in the club house and I would love it if you could put your name down to do some of the duties listed to help the event run smoothly.

The cricket club will also help with the marshalling.
