The last week of the summer season arrived all too quickly and mainly involved the outstanding club competition finals carried over from the previous weekend. Results were as follows:-

Men's Championship - won by Jason Hampton by default as Andy Walding was unable to compete due to illness

Men's Handicap - won by Jason Hampton with Roger Bailey runner up

Men's Pairs - won by Roger Bailey and Tyler Smith with Mike Holness and Keith Lockett runners up

Ladies' Handicap - won by Sarah Breame with Annette Isaaks runner up

Ladies' Pairs - Heidi Call and AnneMarie McCue with Lynn Cridge and Deborah Bailey runners up

Ley Cup - won by Tracey Waygood with Andy Cromwell runner up

Bovey's last friendly, a mixed triples away at Bitton Park resulted in defeat by three rinks to one and by seven shots, despite an impressive win by Phil Cridge's rink.

The club were delighted to welcome a late visit by a touring team from Byfleet Bowling Club, Surrey who took advantage of Bovey's hospitality by winning all the rinks!

The annual ceremonial Closing of the Green match between the President's and Captain's teams was won once again by the President's team, leaving club captain Kenny Breame wondering if he'll ever win one!

Bovey members can now look forward to the winter season which starts on Friday 2nd October with the first of their weekly sessions at Torquay United FC indoor club.
