Hiya..

Wow!!! what a day... the weather was kind for our new members open day held on sunday..

The day started of with a visit from our lady mayor Cllr Sheila Brooke who was given a tour of our club by our chairman Colin Myall. The lady mayor then proceeded onto the green for a short intro to bowls in which she showed much promise and thoroughly enjoyed her time.. Thanks to Sheila for attending and you are welcome back at anytime...

We were busy from start to finish with members of the public of all ages streaming through the gates, to be greeted by our meet & greet team..

In total we welcomed a staggering 49 adults to the club (and quite a few children too), many of whom were new to bowling, in what turned out to be our most successful Open day for many years..

Everyone who attended appeared to be very impressed by what they saw and many showed great promise and enthusiasm once they "had a go" at bowls and were keen to follow up with future visits. (we will start to follow this up ourselves from today) though by the time we got home, we already have 2 people who have filled in the online application form..

Thanks... well!!! to all who left their woods for the public to use.. (we have tried to match up and put back in same place and with correct carriers, but if we got any wrong apologies (more on that in a later post)

But special thanks to every one of you who helped out.. in no particular order...Lynn & Phil, Keith, Kenny B, John, Arthur & Julie, Tracy, Jane, Graham, Chris S, Colin, Sue J, Heidi, Dave & Sue C, Steve C, Dick, Deb B and of course me!!!....and a special, special mention to Nick & Pat who came at 5 minutes notice to help out at a very busy period...everyone of you were a credit to BTBC, I personally thought it was a terrific day.. (if i have missed anyone out I am really sorry, but i was very busy myself so forgiveness please..)

To Chris S and his team for preparing the 5 rinks (which i thought might be ambitious, but we could have done with 7!!!!) Green man day obviously helped the numbers (thanks to all those helpers) and finally to Chris T and Tracy for getting BTBC out on social media in a fun and professional manner, which from the people i spoke to was well received...

PS.. photos will appear when i get them... Roger
