Bovey Tracey's ladies' teams achieved some impressive results this week with two victories in the South Devon League and one in the Ladies' Triples Challenge. Against Paignton in The SDL they won one rink, drew one and lost one, taking the overall win by 7 league points to 3. Also in the SDL, they won one rink and lost two at Marina, Dawlish but took the overall victory by 6 points to 4 thanks to a 16-5 win by Julie Chew, Chris Towle and Sue Johnson. In the LTC against The Den, Teignmouth the rinks were shared one each but a resounding 23-5 win by Barbara Vooght, Lynn Cridge and Sarah Breame saw Bovey take 4 league points to their opponents' 2.
On the men's side, Bovey continued their run of wins in the Mid Devon League against Paignton B in a match which could best be described as a 'game of two halves'. After nine ends there were some glum faces on the Bovey rinks as they trailed by 20 shots to 48 overall but, by the end of the match, they had reversed the deficit to win by 73 shots to 68 and take 10 league points to Paignton's 4. Bovey's best winners were Dick Wraighte, Steve Sanders, Jason Hampton and Alastair Franklin. In the Over 55s, only the Xmen had a fixture this week at Chudleigh and, despite a strong start, they faded later to lose both rinks and concede 8 league points, gaining none.
